We haven't been as active on the media in a little while and there is a million reasons why.
We have been incredibly busy, flying through chores, moving animals, packing orders, making deliveries and doing markets taking animals to the processors and picking the fresh meats up.
We haven't had much quiet, quality , family time in the past 2 months, just working around each other all day every day.
Over the past few months we have debated the idea of purchasing another much needed/wanted piece of equipment. Our 4 wheeler finally just wore out and the minivan isn't quiet cut out for the pastures although it has impressed me a few times.
Today we picked up a new polaris ranger and made arrangements to spend a few hours up on the hill after chores. The kids are super pumped about roasting smores and playing with the fire.
We enjoyed a beautiful sunset watching the afternoon shadow move across the 60 acres from atop the hill.
Soak it in girls, its back to work tomorrow...

I wouldn't mind if things slowed down just a little bit so that I wasn't too busy to complete basic adult actions like making sure to put the fuel cap back in the truck.
Of course 8 fuel stops in 7 days didn't help my chances either.
I think this is the 2nd time this year, Jessica says 3,
Oh well.

Its been one of them days. Cold, raining, lightening, behind schedule, in limbo and looking forward.
We have to make plans, but we have to wait and see.

My favorite part of every day is now these few minutes in the mornings, right after I move the cows.
Everything is quiet, birds are chirping, cows are happily grazing and the calves are exploring the new area.
I usually leave my phone at the 4 wheeler and go for a walk. Most of the time its just a few hundred feet around the new paddock. Its a good few minute of nothingness. Just calm and relaxing sounds of nature. Its is absolutely 100% of the time abruptly interrupted by the sound of my phone ringing in the distance. The "Ding" of a new email, text message, a voice-mail for the call i just missed and social media notifications.

There's never been a time in my life when I felt more humbled and appreciative.
It has been stressful at times lately but its always worth it.

We use holistic and regenerative farming methods to help us produce the most sustainable, most nutrient dense and best tasting meats, eggs and diary for our customers. We sell direct to the consumer as well as restaurants, food trucks and local events. The name DSR farms comes from the first letters of our 3 daughters names, Dallas, Shelby and Raven. One of the main reasons we let a backyard hobby farm turn into thousands of animals is not only to provide the best food we could to our family but also the opportunity to earn a living while being here with our family every day.
